Benjamin Moore vs Sherwin Williams For Best House Paint
Being a professional painting company, we know just how many types of paint there are. There are 2 main types, 5 different sheens, primer, and countless brands.
This debate still rages on long after it first began. It’s almost as hot of a topic as to whether or not pineapple belongs on pizza.
But this is far more important than toppings. The type of paint you use on your home can affect how it looks. Some paints can fade, crack, peel, and damage more easily than others. Paints that work well in one part of the USA won’t in another because of the difference in humidity and overall climate.
For professional painters and homeowners, the type of paint makes a world of difference.
And it all comes down to Benjamin Moore vs Sherwin Williams. As professional painters, we’ve used both paint brands and PPG as well.
This is our take on which is the best paint brand.
The Best Paint Brand Is…
When it comes to Benjamin Moore vs Sherwin Williams, the best is the higher quality paints of both brands. There isn’t really a difference. PPG’s high-quality paints also work really well. What really matters is how good the paint you choose is.
It’s like two people arguing over whether to put mustard or ketchup on a hot dog. They’re different but just as good depending on who’s eating it.
If you prefer Benjamin Moore, use it. If Sherwin Williams is your brand then use it as much as you want.
But use the higher quality paints that fit your job.
If you hire a painter to paint your house, they’ll probably have a preference. Ask them and they’ll tell you something about how their brand is better. But, in all honesty, only a pro painter could tell.
The Real Difference Between Benjamin Moore And Sherwin Williams
It comes down to who owns the actual store. Sherwin-Williams corporate owns each of the branches. Benjamin Moore stores are all locally owned and operated.
This also affects customer service. Sherwin-Williams and PPG tend to have great customer service while Benjamin Moore trails behind.
So, if pressed for an answer, we’d have to say that Sherwin-Williams beats Benjamin Moore because of their superior customer service.
As far as paint goes, though, there’s still no clear winner.
