Concrete is a workhorse material, and as such, it’s often left untreated and unremarkable; dull, dingy and gray. But this hardworking material can be a superstar: polished to reveal what lies beneath its rough and dirty surface, concrete becomes industrial chic, aesthetically pleasing, easy to maintain and just as tough as ever.
Are your concrete floors looking dull and drab? Are you constantly battling dust in your warehouse? Wanting a modern industrial look in your front office?
Modern, sustainable and durable, concrete polishing can make your entire building feel new again. During the polishing process, your concrete’s cracks can be repaired, joints can be filled and slapped areas can be smoothed. And once your concrete has been polished, it will have its pores sealed which will stop it from “dusting,” creating a cleaner warehouse environment.
From Hickory to Gastonia and Morganton, our concrete polishing brings a lasting shine that makes your commercial space stand out.
If you’ve been to a sports stadium or big box retailer, you have most likely walked on polished concrete coatings without even realizing it. This typically industrial treatment isn’t limited to high-traffic public locations, however: it’s also popping up in residential garages and basements, hotels and hospitals, government buildings, commercial businesses and industrial settings. Why? It’s inexpensive compared to other flooring treatments, and lasts longer than most commercial grade products. It seems the right use for concrete polishing is pretty much any use, limited only by your imagination.

It depends. Generally speaking, the larger the floor, the more economical it is per square foot to polish. Some things that affect the cost of polishing are the condition of the current concrete, coatings already on the floor, access to the flooring, and if dye is being applied. A ballpark budget for a 500+ square foot is between $3.50 – $4.50 per square foot.
Polished concrete is slipperier than any other hard flooring surface. If water or other liquid contaminants are introduced, you can bet it will be slick (nearly anything would be). A good rule of thumb is to remember if it’s kept dry, your polished concrete will have plenty of traction and excellent grip.
Concrete is like a snowflake: every piece is unique and there is no way to guarantee what your floor will ultimately look like after it is polished. In fact, the variations are part of the beauty of polished concrete: your floor will look unlike any other, with variations and color differences not unlike what you’d expect form marble or granite.
That said, our craftsmen are prepared to show you a few example that may give you a good idea of what your finished floor may look like. But if you’re looking for a very specific look, concrete polishing may not be the right fit.
Your concrete has aggregate – rocks, actually – mixed in it. When the concrete is first poured and finished, most of that aggregate will sink to the bottom, but often high spots in your floor will surface “salt and pepper” rocks. The deeper we grind during the initial phases of polishing, the more aggregate we will expose. Remember however, these “imperfections” are what makes every polished concrete floor unique.
Dyed and polished concrete is unique and personal, not mention beautiful!
Concrete can be very dusty. Polishing stops that dusty mess and helps keep your space clean and your equipment from being damage or contaminated with dust.
Concrete polishing is typically the lowest cost option when it comes to finishing a concrete floor.
