Large-scale industrial painting projects require skill, a commitment to safety and the use of premium materials. When the work gets technical, you should get the best: Custom Coatings.
A fresh, clean looking water tower isn't likely on your mind until you look up and notice rust stains, or look down and see paint flakes on the ground. Fortunately, proper preventative painting is worth a whole ton of cure: you can prolong your tower's life with a high quality paint job, and not only keep it looking great, but slow the affects of weather over time.
Any steel structure that is exposed to the elements must be maintained to ensure a long life. Filter systems and ground tanks take a beating year-round, baking in the sun's UV rays and getting rained on and dried over and again. Without a preventative maintenance coating, they will degrade. The further they degrade, the more costly it is to return them to service. Your best defense: keep your steel in top condition with a high quality preventative coating. We can help.
There are dozens of coatings on the market designed to protect and preventatively maintain steel structures like yours. How do you choose? Partner with a coatings contractor with the experience to serve as a guide. Custom Coatings' education-focused philosophy means we'll be transparent and helpful, the whole way through.
Did you know most of the cost of painting large items is in the labor, equipment and safety measures? Did you know that all paint is not created equal? We do. And we're here to help you understand as well. For example, here's a few tips on choosing a coating, from basic (and least expensive) to best (and priciest):

A thorough cleaning is the first and most important part of water tank painting. Your structure will be pressure washed with a minimum of 4000 psi. using cleaning detergents. After the tank has been thoroughly washed, it will be sanded all over, abrading the current coating so the new one will adhere better.
We typically use large telescopic boom lifts. While some companies use repelling equipment to access tall structures, we find it more efficient to use man lifts and to keep crews off the tower as much as possible.
If the holes are minor, yes. Your crew will include a welder able to patch small holes in your cyclone or filter housing. However, if the holes are large and require more work, we are happy to work with a welder of your choosing. Once your welder has fabricated and placed the new metal, our team will encapsulate it for a smooth, finished look.
Yes we can! If your logo is simple, we will have a large stencil made, making painting the logo on your tank seamless. If your logo is detailed or includes multiple colors however, we recommend having a vinyl decal installed. Ask us about referring you to our preferred sign company for logo creation and installation. Our team can then apply clear coats of urethane to keep it looking great for years to come.
A water tower can be functional or simply aesthetic but they certainly need to be protected from exposure to the elements with high quality coating systems.
Tanks are an important part of operations for any industry or facility. Keep your tanks in great operating condition with a new coating
Dust collection systems and filters are harsh environments. Protect your investment with a good coating system.
